We’re getting ready to introduce Mutual Core — our first sculptural speakers — next month at ICFF in New York, one of the leading design fairs in the country. But before we do, we’re offering a limited number of first editions to the people closest to our work.

This early release is a way to help us fund our first small production batch — and a chance for you to be part of this new step, before anyone else.
Only five pairs are available at this early price.

Everything we do is self-funded and studio-driven. This new direction is the most ambitious project we’ve taken on. If you’ve been following along, collecting our pieces, or simply staying close to the work, this is our way of saying thank you for your support.

The path to Mutual Core

For the past few years, we’ve been immersed in the work — shaping ceramics, building objects, listening.

Mutual Core grew out of that same rhythm. It wasn’t planned. It started as an idea between friends — a shared curiosity: What if we could build speakers that made our vessels feel alive?

We wanted to make something with presence. Weight. Stillness. A sculptural object that carried sound — grounded and tactile, but also warm and resonant.

We’ve been prototyping obsessively — shaping the form again and again, refining through rigorous testing and design, with the final tuning guided by the ear. The ceramic bodies are made in our Kingston studio, and the hardwood cabinets are crafted in collaboration with Rowan Woodwork, a queer and women-owned shop just down the road — their eye for detail and deep sense of craft makes them the perfect partner.

Two years later, Mutual Core is the most complex and intimate object we’ve ever made. This is not just a new product for us — it’s a doorway into something new. And now we’re asking for a little help to walk through it.

Mutual Core speaker

Mutual Core marks a shift — not just in what we make, but in how our journey comes full circle.

Before we started working with clay, our backgrounds were in the creative industries. Benedicte worked in music production. Jerome was an art director. We spent years shaping campaigns and content for high-end brands — immersed in fast-paced, high-expectation environments.

And always, there was music.

Playing in the background while we worked, setting tempo and tone. It was a constant — a kind of invisible architecture to our days.

Over time, we felt the need to create more directly. To move from supporting other people’s visions to building our own. We were drawn to the physicality of materials, to the slowness of craft, to making things that felt grounded and lasting. Ceramics became the way in.

We started L’Impatience to explore that shift — to shape objects that carry presence, intention, and care. Over the years, the studio became a space of deep listening in a different sense — to material, to process, to silence.

Now, with Mutual Core, sound returns. This time, through form. These sculptural speakers bring together everything we’ve been circling around: the tactile, the functional, the emotional — and the resonant.

This is just the beginning.

Thank you for being here — for supporting us in this early moment, and for helping us shape what comes next. We truly couldn’t do it without you.
